Stuffed Chili Bajji is a famous evening snack of north Karnataka. Made with large chilies, besan and stuffed with green chutney.
Stuffed Chili Bajji


Ingredients of Stuffed Chili Bajji

  • Long light Green chilies – 200 grams (slit in the center and remove the seeds)

  • Besan flour – 1/2 cup

  • Cooking soda – 1 pinch

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil for deep fry

  • Water as required

  • For Stuffing

  • Mint leaves - 1 bunch

  • Coriander leaves 1 1 small bunch

  • Green chilies 2 numbers

  • Cumin seeds powder 1 tbsp

  • Tamarind 1 small ball

  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method:

  • Blend all the stuffing ingredients, and make green chutney, keep aside.

  • Mix in besan, salt, soda and add water to make the batter as required.

  • Stuff the chutney into the chilies.

  • Deep each chili into the besan batter.

  • Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry all the chilies which have dipped in batter and fry till golden brown. And serve hot.
