Lemon Rice Recipe | How to make Chitranna

Lemon Rice Recipe is a delicious south Indian dish. Lemon juice gives a very refreshing and tangy flavor to the rice. Today I am sharing with you the methods which I prepared.

Ingredients of Lemon Rice Recipe:



  • Rice – 1 cup (boiled)

  • Bengal gram – 2 tbsp

  • Oil – 4 tbsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Cumin seed – 1/2 tbsp

  • Mustard seed - 1/2 tbsp

  • Turmeric - 2 tbsp

  • Green chilies - 4-5 numbers (sliced)

  • Curry leaves - 2 numbers

  • Ginger - 3 sliced in long

  • Lemon juice - 3 tbsp

  • Onion - 3 numbers

  • Coriander leaves - 3 tbsp (chopped)


Preparation Method:



  • Heat oil in a frying pan on medium heat and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and allow to splutter add curry leaves, green chilies, Bengal gram, and chopped onion and stir for few seconds.

  • Add turmeric powder and mix well.

  • Add the pre-cooked rice, and sprinkle salt and lemon juice over the rice.

  • Mix gently, make sure do not break the rice and stir for few minutes and finally garnish with coriander leaves.


Now Lemon Rice Recipe is ready to serve.
